- Round Number: 6
- Location: Spielberg, Austria
- Dates: 13th - 14th June 2015
FSR returns to this traditional circuit, previously known as the A1 Ring, currently Red Bull Ring, where FSR last raced in 2005. The circuit in Spielberg will host the Austrian GP, sixth round of the 2015 season.
With FSR not having raced at the venue in the past decade, Faster Than Speed's last sucess at the Austrian venue was a World Series Amateur victory in 2005.
Pushing (too) hard at Spielberg
In the World Championship, despite a few issues, Norbert Leitner drove a good race to finish in 15th place at Spielberg.
Meanwhile, team-mate Patrick De Wit showed really strong and consistent pace, setting the fastest lap of the race several times during the GP. Despite very limited testing, he was on his way to scoring very strong points. However, on lap 38, Patrick pushed slightly too hard into the final corner, went deep over the kerb and spun his FTS-P15 into the barriers, ending his race at the spot. The same corner claimed the other two race retirees, Bigazzi and Simon. Very encouraging pace turned into a missed opportunity.
In the Ace division, it was another strong race from Guillermo Prieto, who set the quickest time in Q1. Things would then become more difficult, with a lap he wasn't happy with in Q2 which left him 9th on the grid and a poor start that dropped him to 12th. However, Guillermo made great progress in the race, showing solid pace and some nice overtaking moves on his way to 6th place at the finish. He was eventually classified in 7th place after receiving a 10-second time penalty for some minor contact with a rival.
